How rakeback works

Every casino game has a house edge: the share of each bet the casino expects to keep over time. Rakeback returns part of that edge to you, on every bet, whether you win or lose.

The value is easy to estimate. Expected loss = total wagered × house edge. Rakeback = expected loss × rakeback rate.

  • You wager $10,000 on slots with a 4% house edge. Your expected loss is $400.
  • At 10% rakeback, you get about $40 back.
  • At 100% rakeback, you would get back the full expected loss on those bets. That is why a 100% rate comes with a cap: Rakebit's covers the first $1,000 wagered.

Results in any single session can be far from these averages; rakeback reduces the long-run cost of playing, it does not guarantee a profit.

Rakeback, cashback or zero edge?

  • Rakeback rewards volume: the more you bet, the more you get back, win or lose.
  • Cashback rewards losing periods: you get money back only after a net loss, which softens bad weeks. BetPanda's weekly cashback has no wagering, so it is cash you can withdraw.
  • Zero edge removes the edge at the source. Duel argues that a 0% edge beats a bonus on a game with a normal edge, because what matters is your net expected loss. On Duel's own games, a 0% edge works out like 100% rakeback.

What to check before you rely on rakeback

  1. Which games count. Some schemes only pay on casino games, or pay less on low-edge games.
  2. How it is paid. Instant cash, a daily claim or a locked balance, such as BC.Game's BCD, that unlocks over time.
  3. Wagering on payouts. The best rakeback and cashback have none.
  4. Caps and time limits. Cloudbet's package runs for 30 days and caps at $2,500; Rakebit's 100% rate stops after $1,000 wagered.

Rakeback FAQ

What is the best rakeback crypto casino?

For new players, Rakebit's 100% rakeback on the first $1,000 wagered is the highest rate on our list. For a whole month of play, Cloudbet's Welcome Package pays 10% rakeback plus cash drops for 30 days.

Is rakeback better than a deposit bonus?

For regular players, often yes: rakeback has no deadline and usually little or no wagering, while a deposit bonus can cost more in wagering than it is worth.

What is the difference between rakeback and cashback?

Rakeback returns part of the house edge on every bet; cashback returns part of your net losses over a period.

Does zero edge mean I cannot lose?

No. A 0% house edge means the game pays back 100% on average over a very long run. Individual sessions can still lose.
