The zero-edge difference
Every casino game has a house edge: a small share of each bet that the casino expects to keep. On a game with a 1–3% edge, that adds up the more you play. Duel's argument, set out on its Why bonuses suck page, is simple: what matters is your net expected loss, and a game with no edge beats a bonus on a game with a normal edge. On Duel Originals, the expected loss is zero over the long run, so results are pure variance.
Stake plays the traditional model: a much larger catalogue with standard house edges, and deposit bonuses governed by a rollover policy. Neither model guarantees a win; zero edge only removes the casino's built-in advantage on those specific games.
Payments and withdrawals
Stake publishes a full network table (BTC, ETH, USDT on five networks, SOL and more), a deposit guide and a withdrawal guide with per-coin minimums and fees. Crypto deposits must be turned over in full before a withdrawal.
Duel may request identity verification before a withdrawal and says in its terms that it does not profit from deposit or withdrawal fees; you pay only the network or processor fee.
Licence and safety
Stake.com is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority. Duel's operator appears in the Anjouan licence register for duel.com. Stake also offers a detailed set of account limits through Stake Smart.
Which should you choose?
- Stake — if you want variety: slots, live dealers, poker and sports in one place.
- Duel — if you want the lowest edge on simple house games and do not care about bonuses.
You can also use both: Duel for zero-edge originals, Stake for everything else. Read the full Stake review and Duel review, or see all top-rated crypto casinos.
Stake vs Duel FAQ
Is Duel really zero edge?
Duel describes its own Originals as zero-edge, with a 100% return to player over the long run. Third-party games in its catalogue keep their normal edge.
Does Duel have bonuses like Stake?
No. Duel argues against classic deposit bonuses and offers zero-edge games instead. Stake runs deposit bonuses under its rollover policy.
Which has lower fees?
Duel says it makes no profit on deposit or withdrawal fees, so you pay only the network or processor fee. Stake publishes a minimum and a fee for each coin in its withdrawal limits table.
Which is better for slots and live casino?
Stake, for most players: its casino covers slots, live casino, roulette, blackjack and poker. Duel also offers third-party casino games, but its main draw is the zero-edge Originals.
